What started as a way to wrangle my anxiety into something productive quickly spiraled into a full-blown creative obsession. I never thought of myself as a ‘creative person’—I just happen to follow directions like a champ and love making beautiful things. I dabbled in scrapbooking and card making, but somewhere around 1995, while navigating a stressful job, I stumbled into knitting and crochet—and let’s just say, it was love at first stitch. It’s the perfect mix of structure and magic, with just enough room for me to occasionally go rogue (though I do love a well-written pattern).
